Small Cell Lung Cancer - February 2002. I was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in February 2002, a day Iwill never forget, as the doctor sat at my bedside with my husband and said, you have cancer , but dont worry when it comes to the end we will not let you suffer, we can give you pills to take away the pain. Iswitched doctors immediately and 2 years later I am still here and fighting fit, and without any pills to take the pain away, because I have no pain just the determination to stay alive. I have check ups every 3 months and everything is O.K. my husband and I have retired to scotland now and are both enjoying life to the full.
